This week, the spotlight shines on Casper, Wyoming, as it hosts the College National Finals Rodeo (CNFR). If you are a college athlete involved in the rodeo world, the CNFR is where you strive to be and brings together the nation’s top collegiate athletes to compete for national titles. This year, we’re thrilled to support Hemptana team members, Arabella Cook and Jaden Whitman, who will be competing, showcasing their exceptional talent and dedication to the sport. 

About the College National Finals Rodeo 

The CNFR is the culmination of the collegiate rodeo season, featuring the best student-athletes from across the United States. Held annually in Casper, this event is a celebration of skill, perseverance, and the grit spirit of college rodeo. Competitors vie for top honors in events such as barrel racing, bull riding, team roping, and more, making it a thrilling week long event for fans and participants alike. 

Hemptana’s Athletes 

Arabella Cook and Jaden Whitman are not just outstanding rodeo athletes; they embody the values and spirit of Hemptana. To shed a light on these professional athletes: 

  1. Arabella Cook 
  • Background: Arabella is a senior at South Dakota State University, majoring in Agricultural Business. She serves as the Women’s Team Captain for the SDSU Rodeo Board. 
  • Event: Barrel Racing 
  • Hometown: Arroyo Grande, CA 
  • Achievements: Known for her agility and speed, Arabella has consistently impressed in barrel racing events. She is a 2x Great Plains Region Reserve champion barrel racer. Her leadership and commitment to excellence make her a formidable competitor at the CNFR. 

  1. Jaden Whitman 
  • Background: Jaden is a dedicated athlete with a deep passion for rodeo, representing the epitome of hard work and resilience. 
  • Event: Steer Wrestling, Tie-Down Roping, Team Roping 
  • Hometown: Whitehall, MT 
  • Achievements: As an incoming freshman, he set an arena record at the PRCA rodeo in Bigfork with a remarkable 3.3-second run.  In the 2023-24 season, he won the steer wrestling title in the Big Sky Region, contributing to the team’s impressive performance. Jaden’s competitive spirit and dedication have earned him a spot at the CNFR, where he is expected to make a significant impact.
