At IND HEMP, we are committed to advancing the industrial hemp industry by fostering innovation, collaboration, and strategic partnerships. We recently had the opportunity and immense pleasure to be a part of the Lancaster County Hemp Circuit in Pennsylvania as well as exhibit and create new relationships at TechTextil North America 2024, all in the same week. What a crazy whirlwind!
PA Hemp Circuit: A Ground-Level Perspective
The Lancaster County Hemp Circuit was a valuable opportunity to learn, network, and deepen our engagement with key stakeholders in the hemp industry. The event, organized in collaboration with Kings AgriSeeds, Pennsylvania State Extension, and Cedar Meadow Farm, with the wizard Steve Groff at the helm, provided impressive insights into hemp varieties and their performance in diverse environments.
One of the highlights was our examination of the IH Williams variety, which continues to demonstrate robust performance across multiple trials. Conversations with industry experts validated the potential of this variety, and the multiple other varieties we had access to was quite impressive. We look forward to further exploration and improvement in this area through collaboration with partners like Penn State and Cornell University.
Beyond agronomic insights, the event facilitated strategic discussions with state and industry leaders, including Pennsylvania Ag partners, multiple university representatives, amongst multiple industry stakeholders. We explored supply chain needs and the critical role industry, regulatory and the public can play in Pennsylvania’s growing hemp economy. Our ongoing dialogue with key figures representing different membership groups highlighted the importance of staying engaged with policymakers to ensure that the industry remains robust and supported at the national level.
Exploring the Future of Hemp at TechTextil North America 2024
Following the success of the PA Hemp Circuit, we were pleased and excited to expand our presence to a global platform at TechTextil North America 2024. With the growing demand for bio-based and sustainable materials, the expo provided the perfect venue to highlight our hemp-based solutions for technical textiles. Our booth highlighted the versatility of industrial hemp, particularly its potential in fiber applications for a variety of industries, including construction, automotive, and apparel.
We anticipate fostering deeper collaborations with industry leaders as a specific outcome of the event and have what seems to be a new rolodex of contacts to follow up with. The conversations and partnerships forged at TechTextil will be pivotal in driving forward innovative solutions that not only meet industry demands but also promote environmental responsibility.
Collaboration and the Path Forward
As we continue to support regional events like the PA Hemp Circuit and engage in international forums such as TechTextil North America, our focus remains on collaboration. Whether it is reconnecting with academic experts like Larry Smart and Alyssa Collins or exploring new opportunities with biochar producers like Patrick Sherren of Metzler Forest Products, our goal is to build a future where hemp plays a significant role in sustainable industries.
Our journey through these events is a testament to IND HEMP’s commitment to growing the hemp industry while fostering meaningful partnerships and driving innovation. We look forward to continuing these discussions, developing new projects, and bringing our solutions to a global audience like that of TechTextil North America 2024.
Reaching Out, Collaboration and Linking Arms
As the hemp industry grows and evolves, we invite partners, researchers, and industry leaders to join us on this journey. Whether through field trials, sustainable material innovation, or supply chain solutions, IND HEMP is committed to creating a lasting impact. We look forward to seeing you at future events, on the socials or we might even get lucky and run into you on the streets! www.indhemp.com
