IND HEMP’s All Walks pet brand has quickly built a reputation for excellence in the pet industry. At Global Pet Expo 2024, All Walks’ Coop Combo – a bundle featuring hemp fiber nesting mats and hemp hurd bedding – earned the Best in Show award in the inaugural Farm & Feed category. This recognition is especially notable as it was the first year the expo introduced the Farm & Feed category, highlighting rising interest in farm-oriented pet products. Importantly, the award was decided by pet store buyers worldwide, signaling strong market enthusiasm for All Walks’ innovative hemp-based products. All Walks’ success isn’t new; back in 2022, the brand’s Hemp Animal Bedding took Third Place in the Small Animal category.

Expanding Opportunities with White Label Partnerships

IND HEMP’s impact extends beyond its own brands, offering white label opportunities for companies aiming to launch sustainable pet products. With a robust supply chain of Montana-grown hemp and state-of-the-art processing facilities, IND HEMP can supply raw hemp materials – from cleaned seed ingredients to fiber and hurd – to other brands looking to develop their own products. The company even provides custom value-add solutions to meet a partner’s specific product requirements. For example, a pet product company could source IND HEMP’s hemp hurd for litter or bedding and market it under their own label, confident in the material’s quality and the story of agriculture behind it. By collaborating in this way, IND HEMP helps other businesses tap into the booming demand for eco-friendly pet supplies while ensuring consistent, scalable supply. These white label and private label partnerships exemplify IND HEMP’s mission to “connect our farmers with the hemp businesses of tomorrow” and broaden the reach of sustainable hemp products.

Nutritional Benefits of Hemp for Pets

IND HEMP and All Walks focus on hemp’s nutritional value and health benefits to improve pet well-being. Hemp seeds are a powerhouse of nutrition – they contain a complete protein with all 21 amino acids and an ideal balance of Omega fatty acids. In fact, hemp seed oil boasts a desirable 3:1 ratio of Omega-6 to Omega-3 and is rich in Vitamin E and antioxidants. All Walks has leveraged these benefits in products like its Hempseed Oil supplement for horses, which is cold-pressed and unrefined to retain maximum nutrients. Pet owners report that such supplements promote healthy skin and overall improves the health, as well as supports joint health and calm energy levels – a natural outcome of hemp’s fatty acids and vitamins. Additionally, hemp’s anti-inflammatory properties can benefit pets with anxiety or stiffness. Even hemp protein powder finds its way into pet nutrition; IND HEMP’s hempseed meal provides plant-based protein and fiber while being highly digestible for animals. Overall, by integrating hemp’s superb nutritional profile into pet diets, All Walks is enhancing pet health in a sustainable, plant-powered way.

All Walks’ Sustainable Pet Product Suite

All Walks was launched by IND HEMP in 2022 with a vision to be an “all aisles of the pet store” brand, delivering sustainable options across pet care categories. Today, All Walks offers a growing suite of eco-friendly pet products, each with a unique value proposition:

  • Hemp Animal Bedding: Made from absorbent hemp hurd, this bedding is superior to wood shavings – it controls odor and lasts longer due to hemp’s high absorbency. It’s available in multiple sizes (from 10L bags for small pets up to 150L for larger enclosures) to suit everything from hamster habitats to horse stalls. Spent hemp bedding is biodegradable and can go straight into the garden as a soil additive, returning nutrients to the earth instead of ending up in landfills.
  • Hemp Fiber Nesting Mats: These soft, fibrous mats provide plush comfort for laying hens and protect eggs in chicken coops. The mats are fully compostable after use, underscoring the cradle-to-grave sustainability of All Walks products.
  • Hempseed Oil Supplement: A 1-gallon hempseed oil for equine and large pets, providing essential Omegas for overall health. This supplement is 100% natural, cold-pressed, and helps keep animals’ skin and systems functioning in healthier manner (one of All Walks’ top-rated equine products).
  • Upcycled Hemp Cat Litter: Newly launched in select markets, this cat litter blends hemp hurd with upcycled grains like wheat and sorghum. It’s lightweight, highly absorbent, and controls odors naturally without chemicals – plus it gives new life to agricultural by-products, exemplifying circular economy principles.

All Walks continues to innovate across pet categories with sustainability in mind. By using Montana-grown hemp as the common thread in all products, All Walks ensures pet owners don’t have to choose between caring for their pets and caring for the planet. Each product’s unique value – whether it’s better absorbency, nutrition, or biodegradability – comes backed by IND HEMP’s quality and passion for sustainability.

Innovating with Hemp: From Buckets to Bikes

IND HEMP isn’t just transforming pet products – it’s also driving innovation in industrial materials like plastics and composites. A prime example is the development of a high-density polyethylene (HDPE) bucket reinforced with hemp fiber. In partnership with compounder Rhetech, IND HEMP created a commercial-grade bucket using a hemp-filled masterbatch of polyethylene. The result is a sturdy, lightweight bucket that replaces a significant portion of petroleum-based plastic with renewable hemp fiber. This breakthrough demonstrates that incorporating hemp into plastics can be done without compromising functionality. In fact, hemp additives often improve properties like stiffness and reduce overall weight of plastic products. IND HEMP showcased these innovative buckets at the NPE plastics industry trade show, giving them to attendees and proving that sustainable materials can perform at scale.

Beyond buckets, IND HEMP’s fibers have made their way into advanced applications such as 3D printing filament (PLA blended with hemp) and even the automotive realm. Notably, the new Harley Davidson-owned LiveWire electric motorcycle uses a polypropylene-hemp composite (with IND HEMP fiber) for its molded front and rear fenders. These real-world implementations – from farm pails to high-end motorcycles – underscore IND HEMP’s ability to integrate hemp into plastics for durable goods. Each success in biocomposites moves industries closer to sustainable manufacturing, where products maintain high performance while significantly lowering their petroleum and carbon footprint.

Farm to Fashion: Hemp Textiles and the Fort Benton Shirt

IND HEMP is also spearheading a renaissance in hemp textiles, bringing this historic fiber crop into modern apparel. Thanks to IND HEMP’s processing facility in Fort Benton, Montana, the company is producing consistent, hemp fiber that can be spun and woven at scale. One exciting project is a collaboration with North 40 Outfitters’ house brand, Smith & Rogue, to create the Fort Benton Shirt – a durable work-grade long-sleeve utility shirt made from Montana-grown hemp. This shirt is one of the first 100% USA-made western work shirts using domestically produced hemp fiber. The Fort Benton Shirt aims to offer the rugged performance ranchers and workers need, with the breathable comfort and sustainability that hemp provides. Hemp fabric is known for its strength and longevity (historically used in ship sails and canvas), so this work shirt is slated to be both tough and long-lasting.

The foray into textiles doesn’t stop at shirts. IND HEMP’s high-quality fiber has drawn interest for a range of uses – from non-wovens (like all-natural cleaning wipes and hygiene products) to potential automotive interior composites. Each new textile application for IND HEMP fiber helps build markets for farmers’ harvests and reduces reliance on less sustainable materials. The Fort Benton Shirt is more than just a piece of clothing – it’s a statement that American-grown hemp can deliver style, function, and sustainability in one neat package.

Sustainable Packaging: Molded Hemp Fiber Trays

Another arena where IND HEMP is making waves is sustainable packaging, particularly through molded fiber technology. Molded fiber packaging is made by pulping renewable fibers (like recycled paper or plant fibers) and forming them into useful shapes such as trays, clamshells, and inserts. IND HEMP has shown that hemp hurd (the woody core of the stalk) can be an excellent feedstock for molded fiber products, offering an eco-friendly alternative to styrofoam and plastic packaging. In a recent development, IND HEMP and partners produced compostable molded trays using industrial hemp fiber as the primary material. These trays are not only biodegradable but also robust, with good shock absorption and insulation properties for protecting products. Applications range from food packaging (compostable produce trays and take-out containers) to electronics packaging (custom-fit cushioning that biodegrades instead of polluting), and even agricultural planters (seed starter pots that can be planted into soil).

The environmental benefits of molded hemp fiber are significant. Hemp grows rapidly and absorbs large amounts of CO₂, and turning it into packaging emits far less carbon than petroleum-based plastics. A life-cycle assessment revealed that IND HEMP’s molded fiber materials have a markedly lower carbon footprint than traditional packaging. Plus, after use, hemp packaging can either be recycled like paper or composted, returning to the earth harmlessly. This year, IND HEMP’s molded fiber initiative took a leap forward with the introduction of new sustainable tray prototypes, aligning with a broader industry movement to eliminate single-use plastics. By investing in molded hemp fiber R&D, IND HEMP is helping shape a future where even the packaging that pet products come in is part of the sustainability story.

Champions of Sustainability: PSC Top Performer and B-Corp Certified

IND HEMP’s commitment to people, pets, and the planet has earned it prominent recognition in the sustainability community. In 2024, IND HEMP was honored as a Top Performer by the Pet Sustainability Coalition (PSC). This distinction, given to the top 20 pet industry companies in sustainability, reflects IND HEMP’s high scores in environmental and social impact among PSC-accredited companies. All Walks, as IND HEMP’s pet brand, shares in this honor – being listed alongside other trailblazers indicates that All Walks is one of the pet sector’s most sustainability-driven brands. PSC’s Top Performers are noted for efforts like carbon reduction, sustainable sourcing, and community engagement, all areas where IND HEMP excels.

Further cementing its leadership, IND HEMP achieved B Corporation Certification in 2024. Becoming a Certified B-Corp means meeting rigorous standards of social and environmental performance, accountability, and transparency. For IND HEMP, this milestone wasn’t a new direction but a validation of its founding mission: to build a business that benefits farmers, customers, and ecosystems alike. As a B-Corp, IND HEMP joins a global community of companies dedicated to using business as a force for good. From ensuring fair contracts with hemp growers, to minimizing waste and energy use in production, to delivering safe, natural products for pets, IND HEMP operates with a “Triple Bottom Line” mindset (people, planet, profit). Pet owners can feel confident that supporting All Walks means supporting a company that actively gives back and strives for continuous improvement in sustainability. This ethos was on full display at Global Pet Expo 2025, where IND HEMP and All Walks proudly stood not just as innovators, but as responsible corporate citizens leading by example.

“Optimal Omega” Chicken Feed for Healthier Hens

IND HEMP recently turned its attention to poultry feed – with impressive results. The company’s Hemptana® “Optimal Omega” Laying Hen Feed is a pioneering chicken feed formula that incorporates hemp seed meal to boost hen health and egg nutrition. Hemp seed meal is about 30% protein and packed with Omegas, making it an ideal feed ingredient. After years of advocacy and research by the Hemp Feed Coalition (led in part by IND HEMP’s team), regulators finally approved hemp seed meal as a safe ingredient for commercial laying hen feed. IND HEMP wasted no time in launching Optimal Omega feed, which contains 17% protein with a balanced Omega 6:3 ratio for optimal hen nutrition. According to IND HEMP CEO Morgan Tweet, hens fed hemp seed show improved nutritional profiles in their eggs – notably higher omega-3 content and other nutrients in the yolk. Research supports this: studies found that hemp seeds in a layer diet can increase the omega-3 and omega-6 concentrations in eggs, enriching the eggs for the humans who consume them.

The benefits go beyond Omegas. Hemp seed meal is highly digestible and contains fiber that can aid hens’ digestion. It also provides trace minerals and vitamins that support overall flock health. Early testers of the Optimal Omega feed have reported robust hens with shiny feathers and steady egg production. This innovation earned considerable buzz at Global Pet Expo 2025, where All Walks featured its chicken care line (bedding, nesting mats, and feed) as a holistic sustainability solution. Backyard chicken keepers love that they can now give their hens a non-GMO, nutrient-rich feed that results in healthier eggs for their families. And like all IND HEMP products, Hemptana feed is sourced from local farms and processed under strict quality standards, giving consumers peace of mind from farm to coop to table.

Hemp: A Climate-Friendly Crop with Big Carbon Benefits

At the heart of IND HEMP’s and All Walks’ purpose is the understanding that industrial hemp is a remarkable plant for the planet. Hemp farming brings significant carbon and ecological advantages. Most notably, hemp is a powerful carbon sink – it can absorb 8 to 15 tonnes of CO₂ per hectare over a growing season, which is more than what an average forest can sequester in the same area (forests capture roughly 2 to 6 tonnes per hectare). This means every acre of hemp that IND HEMP’s network of farmers cultivates is actively pulling greenhouse gas out of the atmosphere and storing it in the plant’s fast-growing biomass and soil. Unlike slow-growing trees, hemp can be grown and harvested annually (even twice a year in some climates), making it a rapid tool for carbon capture and regenerative agriculture.

Beyond carbon sequestration, hemp contributes to sustainability in other ways. Its deep roots help improve soil structure and prevent erosion, and they can draw up nutrients, playing a role in soil remediation. Hemp also requires less water than many conventional crops and typically grows well without the need for pesticides, reducing chemical inputs into the environment. Every part of the plant can be used – seeds for food and feed, stalks for fiber and hurd – leading to minimal waste. IND HEMP leverages these traits to create a circular system: carbon is absorbed by the growing hemp, that hemp is turned into long-lasting products (locking away the carbon), and at end-of-life many of those products (like fiber mats or molded packaging) can biodegrade, returning to the earth. By scaling up hemp cultivation for its products, IND HEMP is not only providing greener materials but actively contributing to climate change mitigation. This message resonated at Global Pet Expo, where attendees learned that choosing a hemp-based pet product is a small step with big ripple effects – supporting regenerative farming, cutting plastic waste, and reducing our collective carbon “pawprint.”

Leading the Pack in Sustainable Pet Care

IND HEMP and All Walks will be exhibiting at Global Pet Expo 2025 as advocates of sustainable pet products and materials, showcasing a lineup that spans nutritious animal feeds, eco-friendly pet bedding, innovative bioplastics, and more. Their journey of awards – from 2022’s Hemp Bedding to 2024’s Best in Show Coop Combo – reflects a consistent drive to push boundaries and deliver what conscious pet owners want: products that are good for their pets and good for the planet. By investing in white label partnerships, IND HEMP extends these benefits across the pet industry, enabling other brands to ride the green wave. And by continually innovating – be it a hemp-fiber bucket, a hemp work shirt, or a hemp-based chicken feed – IND HEMP proves that sustainability and performance can go hand in hand.

As a Certified B-Corp and PSC Top Performer, IND HEMP operates with a clear sense of purpose and responsibility. The positive, forward-thinking spirit will be demonstrated at their expo booth, where conversations won’t be just about pet toys or treats, but about regenerative agriculture, carbon sequestration, and building a better future through business. Engaging with pet owners, retailers, and industry peers, will clearly communicate IND HEMP and All Walks are a blueprint for how pet companies can lead on sustainability. In a world where small choices compound into big impacts, IND HEMP and All Walks are helping everyone make better choices – whether it’s a bag of hemp bedding instead of pine shavings, a nutrient-rich hemp treat instead of an ordinary biscuit, or packaging that composts instead of pollutes. Together, they are trailblazing a new standard for pet care where innovation is measured not only by profit, but by the positive imprint it leaves on pets, people, and the planet.
